Rating
If you log in, there is a ratings widget present on every page. If you click it, you will submit a rating for the page. If you click "Cancel rating", it will become as if the rating were never submitted. The rating scale is:
- Excellent. Superb.
- Good.
- OK. Neutral.
- Fairly bad.
- Awful.
There are also half-ratings (2.5, 3.5, etc.) in between these ratings.
How do I see ratings?
- There is a UserRatings page that shows your ratings.
- If you go to a category page (like Restaurant), there is a button to show all pages in that category.

Check out those happy smiles. They just make me want to go rate more things. (And probably rate them highly, because who would want one lonely happy smile there?) Further note on this. The Soda App Introduction said we should look at the RateThisPage page in order to understand that one smiley is bad. Perhaps that means the smilies should look different; the first one angry, the second disappointed, the third neutral, the fourth pleased, and the fifth elated. This would let the interface help tell the story. --

I'd rather prefer the standard stars, smaller and in the movielens colors: red (rated), green (predicted). I'd also prefer title attributes ("tooltips") for the icons, from awful to excellent. --

KurtWilms: "Tooltips" would be cool, but I am going to go ahead and disagree about the smiley faces. I love them! (added at 01:24:40 PM on 08/03/05)
KurtWilms: One possible change I like is to add frowning faces. (added at 01:25:36 PM on 08/03/05)
loeblein: Hint: when filling a lens matrix, always vote lower then you would do by instinct. First to keep room for the diamonds you didn't think about, and second because you will know more good stuff then bad as you only remember what you like. (added at 09:10:55 AM on 01/04/06)
